Our guide was Dustin and he did a great job. Really knew the ins-and-outs of the entire area and knew how and where to catch whatever you are up for. The boats and gear were fantastic. The lodge itself is a great place to stay and the staff really takes care of you. Overall a blast and I couldn't have asked for anything more for my first trip to Gustavus and Alaska. If I get the funds, I'll definitely be coming back! The five Lincoln Boys had a great week . The facility and boats are top of the line. The staff is over the top solicitous and the cuisine is great. We liked it so much we are already planning for next year and are taking our kids and more fellows form Lincoln - three boats, 15 guys. It was a great week July 23 to 29. Dustin and Rafael were our captains and showed us the best time. Got us on the fish, baited the hooks and got the fish on the boats. They made fishing fun and each had great people skills. At the lodge Guy and his family bent over backwards for our every need. Tina, the chef worked with me because there are things I do not eat. She said no problem and had me covered. The inland water was so calm which made fishing so much easier than the 10 to 12 foot swells I encountered in Sika. The whole Lodge was extremely great!! All eight of us had a fabulous time. I had to buy a new freezer for the fish. I will not need to go to the grocery store as off for awhile. Experience was phenomenal!!!!!! Staff was excellent and attentive. Clean rooms. Outstanding food. Boats were great and our captain Rafael made our experience memorable. We will be back. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent fishing -Thank you Captain Rye. Abundance of wildlife and wildflowers. Fabulous walking trails through rain forest. Gustavus is a must see for fishing, great food, and adventure. 60 degree weather everyday last week of July.
